My Journey with God

Three weeks after Hurricane Katrina, my home was gone. I took my family to Texas til we could get back to our town. There were 3 adults and 15 cats living in a 28' camper. My boss offered a spot for us to park our humble home away from home behind our office/warehouse.

Unknown to us, we were right in the middle of a Jehovah Witness camp center. Not knowing who or what Jehovah Witnesses (JW) were we settled in to make the best of our situation.

We spent almost 4 ½ months here. During that time I had cleaned up the warehouse and made a living space so the camper would not be so small. I extended an invite to some of the JW men to watch football with me on Sunday & Monday nights. Later, I found out that JW's do not want to fellowship with anyone but their own kind.

Being somewhat out of reach from my home church, we were on our own.

God had not begin to work on me at this time, I guess finding a place to live was on top. The housing market was going crazy, sellers market. Houses were going out of site because of the storm making so many other families homeless also.

We found a new home just before we had to be gone from our temporary home.

My journey was just starting. God had other doors to shut for me and the doors he opened changed me in my walk with him.
